Daughters, Candice & Jackie

The sculpture captures the enduring life-time relationship between two sisters. The pose was chosen by the parents as Jackie and Candice commonly hugged each other cheek to cheek from early ages. Their strong ties have continued into adulthood. Part of the sculpture process required for the girls to model over thirty hours, and a majority of the time was spent standing near each other with faces pressed close. While working on this piece, it was not uncommon to listen in on their conversations, conversations sharing advice, recipes, and other daily experiences creating on-going bonds that will continue into the future. As sisters in life's longest relationship, Candice and Jacqueline are already experienced in the most meaningful part of life—warm, loving relationship.
